On Tuesday, Federation will collect for meals

jewish Federation of SD CountySAN DIEGO (Press Release)– For the first time ever, the Jewish Federation of San Diego County is participating in #givingtuesday, a global day of philanthropy following Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.  On Tuesday, December 2, the Federation will launch a one day campaign in an effort raise enough money to provide 1,000 hot, home-delivered meals to San Diego’s homebound in need. To achieve this, Federation will be partnering with local Jewish Family Service’s FoodMobile, which seeks funding for the upcoming holiday season.  Just $6 is enough to provide one hot, home delivered meal for someone in need.

“We’re thrilled to give this a shot,” said Federation’s Marketing and Communications Director, Aaron Truax. “We have two days for getting deals – let’s celebrate a day for giving back.  Further, I’d say donating $6 to feed a homebound San Diegan is the best deal in town! The hope is to help people share on social media, and get their friends involved in philanthropy. That’s what I get excited about.”

Donations are being accepted at www.JewishInSanDiego.org/givingtuesday.
