
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Press Release) — The U.S. State Department issued the following statement on Tuesday, April 2: “The United States strongly condemns today’s terrorist attacks in Egypt’s North Sinai Governorate in which at least seventeen Egyptian soldiers and civilians were killed and dozens others wounded. We express our sincere condolences to the victims, their families, and the government and people of Egypt.
“The United States remains steadfast in its support of Egypt’s efforts to combat terrorism in the Sinai and throughout the country, and we will continue to work closely together to address shared threats to regional security.”
