  1. Following the release of the House Republicans’ bill to replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Stosh Cotler, CEO of Bend the Arc Jewish Action, released the following statement:

“The Trump administration and its Republican allies in Congress have taken their attacks on the vulnerable to a new low. Not simply content with enacting cruel, senseless policies attacking immigrants, Muslims, and refugees, they have now set their sights on the sick, the poor, and the elderly. Instead of taking steps to make sure more Americans have access to quality healthcare, these lawmakers would tear away current insurance plans from millions of Americans and make it more expensive for millions of others. None of this will improve the healthcare delivery system, but it gives massive tax cuts to the very wealthy and drug and insurance corporations. These policy priorities are deeply disturbing and completely out of step with our basic values as Jews and as Americans.

“We will vigorously oppose this draconian legislation and fight all efforts to roll back the progress achieved through the passage of the Affordable Care Act. The attacks on our society’s most vulnerable individuals must stop.”
