This program is for Jewish high school students to join a research-backed initiative that empowers them to combat antisemitism by sharing their Jewish identity and what it means to them personally. Yiddishland California presents “Reading and Crafting Yiddish Poetry with Osian Evans Sharma” at 1 p.m., starting Tuesday, Oct. 21, and continuing until Tuesday, Nov. 25, on Zoom. Ohr Shalom Synagogue reports to its congregants that all northbound lanes on the I-5 freeway starting from Interstate 8 to Mission Bay Drive will be closed from tonight through Monday, Sept. 29, according to a report from Caltrans. The closure taking place to conduct roadwork and culvert replacement will begin Friday evening at 9 p.m. and will end Monday morning at 5 a.m., Caltrans says. Motorists are advised to take SR-163, SR-15, and I-805 as alternate routes to connect to I-5. Those traveling northbound on I-5 past SR-163 will be detoured to I-8.
