INTERNATIONAL

The Pentagon has announced an $8.6 billion contract awarded to Boeing to design, integrate, test, produce and deliver 25 advanced F-151A aircraft for Israel’s Air Force. The award was made Monday after Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with U.S. President Donald J. Trump.  Earlier in his visit, the Prime Minister also met with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine.

Sacha Roytman, CEO of the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), said the goals of signage and social media messages proclaiming that Jesus was Palestinian “is to erase Jesus’ Jewish identity and deny Jewish indigeneity to the land of Israel.” CAM, in response has launched its own social media program under the hashtag #JesusWasJewish “to reclaim historical truth and protect the shared history of Jews and Christians from distortion.”

NATIONAL

Tatiana Schlossberg, daughter of Edwin Schlossberg and Caroline Kennedy, and the granddaughter of slain President John F. Kennedy, died Tuesday at age 35, it was announced by the JFK Library Foundation.  Last month, in the New Yorker, she announced that she had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and had only a short time to live. She leaves her husband George Moran and two children.

At the request of the Los Angeles police department, the public will not see immediately the autopsy reports for actor/ director Rob Reiner and his photographer wife Michele Singer Reiner who allegedly were stabbed to death Dec. 14 by their son Nick Reiner. The LAPD said the request was made “to ensure detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division learned of important information surrounding their deaths before the media and public.”  The couple were cremated on Friday, Dec. 19.  Nick Reiner has a scheduled arraignment on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Avodah’s CEO Cheryl Cook, memorializing board member Sheila Lambert, said she “didn’t just serve; she made us stronger. She quickly joined three committees, took over development, offered to lead governance, and took on many special projects—all within a year. One of her last pushes for Avodah was setting up Legacy giving. I am now in awe that, in the midst of battling cancer, she was thinking about how to make sure Avodah sustains beyond this moment.”

New York Republican Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz, who is Jewish, said on the Fox News that the rhetoric that New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani used during his campaign “will turn into policy and action during his administration. … He is literally taking the entire [Democratic] party in the state of New York and moving it further and further to the left.  And when it comes to the radicalization in the languages around Jews, what scares me most is the people he’s going to surround himself within the administration. Who’s going to be his chancellor of education? …”
