American Jewish Committee San Diego and the Lawrence Family JCC announce their “Empowered Parents Workshop” at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, August 20, in the La Jolla area.
This workshop is designed to equip parents of elementary, middle, and high school students with the knowledge, strategies, and resources to advocate for their children and be partners in their education journey.
Parents will learn how to recognize and address antisemitism in education spaces, gain expert insights on preparing your child for success, what to ask, what to expect, and where to find support.

Coastal Roots Farm reports its summer produce is being harvested and sold at the pay-what-you-can farm stand. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and summer squash are picked in the morning and sold at the stand, at noon, on Thursdays, and at 10 a.m., on Sundays. Anyone can receive up to $30 of produce for free, and every purchase pays it forward.

OBITUARY NOTICE
Thomas Pliner has died. He was the husband of Gail Pliner, father of Jon (Emma) Pliner, Nikki (Bernie) Berman, and grandfather of Charlie, Theo, Zach, and Zoey. The funeral was held on Monday, July 13, at El Camino Memorial Park, Am Israel Mortuary reports.
