The Murray Galinson San Diego-Israel initiative (MGSDII) and the Joan B. Kroc School for Peace Studies will collaborate in bringing two Hebrew University faculty members — a Palestinian and a Jew — to the University of San Diego campus to jointly teach a course in conflict resolution.
Professor Maya de Vries, the Israeli, and Mariam Kabaha, a Palestinian attorney, will co-teach a course starting next January centered on fostering “equity and shared spaces between Jews and Arabs in Israel.”
DeVries teaches in Hebrew University’s Communication and Journalism Department with a specialty in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Kabaha served for eight years as a national commissioner of Israel’s Equal Employment Opportunities Commission and was the highest-ranking Arab woman in the Israeli civil service.
Both faculty members hold senior positions at the Hebrew University’s aChord Center, dedicated to promoting shared spaces for Arabs and Jews. De Vries directs the Academia Department and Kabaha is the center’s Deputy CEO.

The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law filed a complaint against Duquesne University in Pittsburgh on behalf of psychology professor Alexander Kranjec, Ph.D., alleging antisemitic discrimination and harassment in his department.
The complaint seeks an investigation into those allegations by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
