Coalition released the following statement on Maine Democratic US Senate nominee Graham Platner and the continued support he is receiving from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his allies.
RJC National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman and CEO Matt Brooks said:
“The RJC condemns in the strongest possible terms the candidacy of Graham Platner, a man who walked around with a Nazi SS Totenkopf tattoo emblazoned on his chest for 18 years and now expects Maine voters to send him to the United States Senate. A Nazi tattoo is disqualifying. Full stop.
“The stakes could not be higher. The road to the Senate Majority runs through Maine. Senator Susan Collins has consistently delivered for Mainers and for hardworking American families. She has championed lower taxes, secured critical investments in Maine’s shipbuilders and rural communities, defended affordable energy, and worked tirelessly to bring down the cost of prescription drugs. As Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Collins delivers for the people of Maine. They need her to keep looking out for their concerns in the US Senate.
“Notably, Senator Collins has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the American Jewish community through every trial and test, from confronting rampant campus antisemitism, to supporting the U.S.-Israel alliance, to standing up to the Iranian regime and its terror proxies.
“Chuck Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in America, and every Senate Democrat propping up Platner’s campaign, should be ashamed. Their continued support of Graham Platner, who wore the symbol of Hitler’s SS on his chest for 18 years is an outrage. Schumer must withdraw his support immediately.
“There is only one party where American Jews can be proudly Jewish and loudly pro-Israel — and it is the Republican Party. Maine voters will reject Graham Platner, re-elect Senator Susan Collins, and help deliver a Republican Senate Majority.”
