SAN DIEGO — For the first time in its long and distinguished history, Beth Israel, San Diego’s largest synagogue, will offer live streaming of many of its High Holy Days services.
Live streaming of these services will be available free to members and non-members, Jews and non-Jews. While especially beneficial for members who are ill, housebound, or away from the city, live streaming also offers the opportunity for non-Jews to experience a Jewish worship service and better understand the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) .
Also for the first time, all of Beth Israel’s High Holy Days services, which have previously been held at the Civic Theater in San Diego, will be held at the synagogue’s campus in University City. A multitude of services, early and late, evening and morning, will be held. Some of these services are already full. Live streaming offers the opportunity for virtual attendance.
The following services will be live streamed:
Erev Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 4:
6:00 p.m. Early evening family service
8:30 p.m. Late evening service
Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 5:
