Luckily for San Diego audiences, PowPac Theatre believes the polar opposite. Older readers may recall Sybil, a 1973 book about the life of a woman with multiple personalities.  Suffice it to say that the subject of that book has nothing on Dennis Peters, the one-man phenom who portrays Sam and the other 30 characters in Scripps Ranch Theatre’s “Fully Committed. ” [Eva Trieger]

Nan, bolstered by best friend Simon (Isai Luna) and her new pal, Sweetheart/Peaches (Ruth Russell), has had all she can take. Her plan to leave Kyle involves duct taping him to a chair in a cabin to which she plans to lure the local bears. [Eva Trieger]

This show creates a new understanding of musical theatre, by intentionally exploring composition and dynamics.  Some of the images are abstract, others are extreme close ups of a face or a person. Each composition captures a moment in time and enables the actor and the viewer to decipher a story. [Eva Trieger]

Lamplighters’ cast is dynamic, spirited and evinces some great chemistry. Olive (Erin Grayce) and Florence (Yvone Nguyen) are beautifully complementary and it is easy to see why they make each other mashugga. Olive is a slob, happy to eat take-out nightly, and enjoys a laid-back approach to life. Newly separated Florence is uptight, a neat freak, and enjoys showcasing her culinary and decorative arts. Sorel Bennett (Susan Branch), a quirky actress and Edward Bennett (David Dartt), her playwright husband, have a combative relationship.  They alternately spar and coo, while mixing it up with their unanticipated visitors. [

Mom (Lesa Sailors) has been a widow for two years, and though she loved her husband, has found new facets and interests and is allowing herself to live a more fully expressed life, which is equal parts unexpected and devastating to her daughter, Ellie. [Eva Trieger]
