SAN DIEGO — The world cannot afford a nuclear Iran.

Accordingly, StandWithUs (SWU) San Diego and dozens of community partners have scheduled a  “Stop Iran Now” at a rally on Sunday, July 26 from 2-4 p.m.. It will be held at Balboa Park in a prime location of Park Boulevard and Presidents Way Lawn.

This is not a partisan issue. It is an issue of life and death. The stakes are too high and this will impact the world for generations. In the not too distant past, liberal democracies failed to stop a fascist, racist, anti-Semitic regime. We cannot afford to repeat that mistake. Congress must hold fast to the critically important terms of a good deal if the region, the United States and the world is to be safe from a nuclear-armed regime in Iran.

Students and community members from all faiths and political beliefs will stand together to urge Congress to reject the Iran nuclear deal and hold strong for an agreement that protects the U.S. and our allies and prevents nuclear proliferation in the region. Petitions to sign in English and Spanish will be available, which SWU will deliver to Congress.

Keynote speaker is author and Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick. I will also speak along with Rabbi Arnold Kopikis; Pastor Jim Garlow and Rosemary Schindler Garlow of the Skyline Church; college student, Gracie Walker; attorney Mitch Danzig; AIPAC representative Daniel Schwimmer; and politician Phillip Graham. Singer/songwriter Jonathan Valverde will sing the National Anthem.

Concurrently, StandWithUs, a 14-year-old, international Israel education organization will hold a huge rally on Sunday at the Federal Building in Los Angeles. SWU’s Toronto chapter held a 700-person rally on Wednesday and its New York, Philadelphia and Rhode Island offices brought busloads to New York’s Times Square “Stop Iran Now” rally.

  1. The choice we face is between an agreement that will ensure Iran’s nuclear program is limited, rigorously scrutinized and wholly peaceful – or no deal at all. — John Kerry, Washington D.C.

    1. Sec Kerry is wrong. The choice we face is between the horrible deal that he gave to Iran at the expense of the security of the world or rejection of his deal, increased sanctions, and then the achievement of a much better deal. — Barry Nussbaum, Solana Beach, California
