TEL AVIV, Israel (Press Release) — Buy for Good, a new Israeli start-up offers a new way to connect Israel supporters around the world to nonprofits organizations in Israel. The company has launched a new online store www.buyforgood.biz that only sells products produced in vocational training centers operated by nonprofits that offer rehabilitation and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and from underprivileged communities.

Vocational training centers encourage people with disabilities to develop skills for entering vocational programs according to their talents and aspirations. They also provide opportunities for improving financial well-being and career development. Employment Centers and Transitional Employment Programs represent a model of group rehabilitation that serves as the first step in entering a work oriented environment. These frameworks engage consumers in a different type of labor and in learning programs that build workforce capability.

Another item sold by BuyforGood.Biz is a Ben-Gurion mousepad. The company also offers one featuring Theodor Herzl

Nonprofit organizations in Israel have been operating these vocational centers for years but so far, the vast majority of their production was for the local market and most of the sales are to companies and organizations before the High Holidays and Passover with only a very small portion sold directly to consumers. This situation limits the potential market for the nonprofits and leaves them with a narrow customer base.

On the website can be found different kind of gifts. Right now, the website is running it’s “Beta” version with different products, all made by people with disabilities, special needs, or from underprivileged communities. Soaps, tea, dolls, home decoration, Judaica items all can be purchased directly on the website and be shipped to different places around the world. More products will be added soon.

BuyforGood.biz is aiming to extend the reach of the nonprofit organizations and to help them sell to supporters outside of Israel. “We believe that once there will be a demand in the market for social-impact products made in Israel it will push these organizations to produce more, develop more employment opportunity and establish new revenue channels”, says Yuval Arbel, Founder and CEO of “Buy for Good”.

“We believe that people would prefer to buy a social impact product, a product that has a positive effect for the society, like products made by people with disability, if it will be accessible and easy to purchase. We also want to connect Israel supporters around the world with Israeli causes and to present a different side of Israel, the one you will probably never see on TV. We feel that buying and using social-impact products can change people’s attitude and perception toward people with disabilities and will allow more people to see them as a contributing productive part of society.”
