Art of the Holocaust lecture topic at CBI Feb 20

SAN DIEGO — Guri Stark, chief executive officer of the brain imaging company CorTech Labs, will present a program on the art of the Holocaust at a 6:30 p.m. buffet dinner Wednesday, Feb. 20, sponsored by the Beth Israel Men’s Club at Congregation Beth Israel, 9001 Towne Centre Drive.

Stark for the last 15 years has been presenting and adding to this multi-media lecture which combines artists’ personal biographies with world historical events that influenced the artists, and their positions in the different art movements of the time.

He said his compilation shows how “art has created a visual, long-living record of the Holocaust.” Art has been used “as evidence for what really happened” and has “helped children cope” while serving for artists as “a form of resistance.”

This program is open to the entire San Diego community, both men and women. Temple or Men’s Club Membership is not a requirement to attend. The dinner fee is $18 with an RSVP and $20 without RSVP and includes a deli buffet that will be served at 6:30 pm.  One may register via the email cbimensclub@gmail.com. — Based on information provided by the Beth Israel Men’s Club
