SAN DIEGO (Press Release) – Lt. Col. Elizabeth Robbins, a retired Army officer who now serves at the State Department as a senior adviser or public affairs, will be the featured speaker at Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School’s gala on Monday, May 27, the school has announced.

“Her talk is titled ‘America as a Force for Good in the World,’” according to the gala’s chair, Jennifer Eilemberg.

Robbins is a West Point graduate who served in the U.S. Army for 21 years. While on active duty she was General David Patreaus’ Communications Officer in Iraq. For the past four years, Robbins was the national Director of Communications for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). Robbins will be introduced by LCDR Rabbi Aaron Kleinman, CHC, USN, parent of three Hebrew Day School students.

The gala will also honor two San Diegans who are Holocaust survivors, Dr. Edith Eger and Fanny Krasner Lebovits.

The gala will support Soille San Diego Hebrew Day School’s scholarship fund, which provides tuition assistance based on needs to deserving families, according to Joyce Arovas, the school’s director of development.
