SAN DIEGO (Press Release) — The search for a new senior rabbi will be a principal topic for Congregation Beth Israel’s new president, Kimberly Carnot, when she addresses the Beth Israel Men’s Club at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 17.

Rabbi Michael Berk retired at the end of the fiscal year, a day before Carnot took over the congregation’s presidency.

She and her wife, Traci Carpenter, lived in Alaska before moving to San Diego. They have two children, Emma and Harley, who attend Beth Israel’s religious school.

Carnot, a fourth generation member of Congregation Beth Israel, will be the featured speaker at a deli buffet on the Beth Israel campus, 9001 Towne Center Drive. Tickets are $18 for those who RSVP, and $20 for those who present themselves at the door.

Previously, Assemblyman Todd Gloria had been scheduled to speak at this meeting, but his appearance is being rescheduled, it was announced.
