Liam Rosenberg, Pacific Western Regional Teen President, states, “BBYO has been a big part of my life and many other Jewish teens in San Diego. The partnership with Beth Israel bridges two important aspects of my Jewish identity. I am so excited that more teens at my temple will experience BBYO!”

Charlotte Stern, Youth Director at Beth Israel, expands, “Beth Israel is excited to join the leading pluralistic Jewish Movement in teen engagement. It means developing the expansion and growth of BBYO in the San Diego Jewish community.”

Jason Lobenstein, Pacific Western Region’s San Diego City Director, continues, “There will be more teens unified under BBYO that will be able to collaborate, partner, and participate in a variety of different activities. This partnership lends itself to our mission of more Jewish teens having more Jewish experiences. We are excited about what this means for the population of Jewish teens in the San Diego area.”

BBYO’s San Diego presence has added over 100 new members to Pacific Western Region in the 2021-2022 school year, with a projection of doubling in size by the end of the 2022-2023 year. Kicking off the new year, Beth Israel will be forming a brand-new San Diego chapter. Members will be able to partake in San Diego programs as well as Pacific Western Region regional-based conventions and events kicking off this fall.
