(To the melody of “American Pie”)
By Laurie Baron SAN DIEGO

Not so very long ago
I can still remember when presidents
Upheld the law.
If Russia helped Trump get elected.
That’s what got Comey ejected.
Not obeying was his fatal flaw.
Trump acted as if he were royal
Assumed Chris Wray would be loyal.
Though he soon irked his boss
He remained with Trump’s loss.
But now that Trump is back again.
He wants a fox to guard the hens.
And Patel needs no advice
To treat dissent as vice.
So, bye-bye, Christopher Wray
You knew that Trump wouldn’t let you stay.
Kash will punish critics who have gone astray.
Planning, jail foes, put them away.
Jail foes, put them away.

Brilliant, and deadly accurate.
Phenomenal!!! Lovely, lovely adaptation! And the humor keeps up all sane when spinning in this vortex of political shocks, one after another. Thank you for publishing this sweet piece!
