SAN DIEGO (SDJW)– There has been a reset at the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego and at the Leichtag Foundation. Marjory Kaplan is coming back, at least temporarily, as President and CEO of JCF. Charlene Seidle is returning to a full-time role at the Leichtag Foundation.
Here is an announcement sent to members of the Jewish community from Jane Scher, JCF board chair:
As the Chair of the Board of the Jewish Community Foundation, I am writing to inform you of a change in the executive leadership at the Foundation. Charlene Seidle will be leaving her position as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Jewish Community Foundation as of May 31, 2015. Charlene has made a decision to return to a full-time role at the Leichtag Foundation. The Board thanks Charlene for the excellent work in various roles at the Foundation over the past 17 years and wishes her the best.
The Foundation Board has invited Marjory Kaplan to return as President and CEO on a temporary basis until a permanent CEO is selected. Marjory served as the Foundation’s chief executive from 1994-2015. In the interim, Marjory will lead an experienced senior management team, continuing to serve the community at the highest level. The Board appreciates Marjory’s willingness to return and will initiate a search for a permanent President and CEO in a timely manner.
The Foundation expects to close the current fiscal year in a strong financial position surpassing annual goals with anticipated record grantmaking.
