Hillel Met with CSU-San Marcos Staff to Seek Assurances Jewish Students Will be Protected from Pro-Hamas Demonstrators

March 27, 2025

Throughout the event, participants could hear protesters screaming and attempting to get a police reaction outside. This was disruptive to the event, intimidating to participants, and undermined the program’s learning goals. Approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled conclusion, the CSU San Marcos administration abruptly called for the event to end and directed the 32 attendees to evacuate, citing an inability to maintain the security perimeter. Parasha Pekudei: Be a Part of a Community for Your Health

March 27, 2025

Hillel teaches us “Do not separate yourself from the community.” Do we need the Blue Zones or the American College of Lifestyle Medicine to tell us about the importance of unity and connection? Hillel tells us further in Avos 2:5, “Do not trust in yourself until the day of your death.” He is suggesting that since we cannot trust ourselves, our synagogue, our community, is necessary for us to help sustain our spiritual stability.  [Michael R. Mantell, Ph.D]

Israeli Native Provides Insights into U.S. Record Industry and Boxing World

March 25, 2025

Although never an A-Lister, Ganon’s singing was exceptional enough to earn the respect of such an A-Lister as Penny Marshall. Similarly, her public relations skills won her the admiration of former heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frazier.  Marshall and Frazier, now both deceased, are among the people Ganon writes about extensively in this stream-of-consciousness, tell-not-quite-all memoir.
