Netanyahu meets with Christians United for Israel delegation

JERUSALEM (Press Release) – A delegation from Christians United for Israel (CUFI), including 27 leading pastors from across the United States, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday. The meeting was part of a six-day trip to Israel, organized and led by CUFI, intended to raise the pastors’ awareness about the issues facing the Jewish State. For the majority of attendees, this was their first visit to Israel.

During the meeting with Netanyahu, Pastor John Hagee, founder and Chairman of CUFI, presented the Prime Minister with a copy of CUFI’s Israel Pledge, which has garnered the signatures of nearly 325,000 Christian supporters of Israel.

“We had a wonderful meeting this morning with the Prime Minister,” Hagee said. “We came to deliver the message that America’s Christian Zionist community has awoken, has organized, and will steadfastly stand with the people of Israel as they pursue peace and security.”

Before the meeting, as the group neared their destination, Hagee led them in a prayer asking for Israel’s leaders to be blessed with the “wisdom of Solomon.”

David Brog, CUFI’s executive director, noted after the week’s events that he was very pleased to have brought such a diverse group of leaders to see Israel firsthand.

“I am proud of the quality and diversity of our group. In fact our group was more diverse than American itself with a large contingent of Hispanic-American and African-American pastors, Republicans and Democrats, joining us as we stand with Israel,” Brog said.

Christians United for Israel is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States and one of the leading Christian grassroots movements in the world. CUFI spans all fifty states and reaches millions with its message. Each year CUFI holds hundreds of pro-Israel events in cities around the country. And each July, thousands of pro-Israel Christians gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the CUFI Washington Summit and make their voices heard in support of Israel and the Jewish people.

CUFI’s mission is to provide a national association through which every pro-Israel church, parachurch organization, ministry or individual in America can speak and act with one voice in support of Israel.
