SAN DIEGO─ Republican Steve Scalise, the Majority Whip in the House of Representatives, claims he was unaware that David Duke’s European-American Unity and Rights Organization was a racist group when he delivered a speech at its annual conference in 2002.  Critics wonder how he could have overlooked that the dress code for the event was “white sheet optional.”

Arab countries have banned the screening of the movie Exodus: Gods and Kings for being pro-Zionist.  They have a point.  After the Jews walk between the parted waters of the Red Sea, they sing the Hatikvah instead of the Mi-Kamocha.

Financial analysts report that RadioShack is so burdened by debt, it may not even have enough money to file for bankruptcy and restructure itself.   It is the first case of a company being too poor to fail.

The Air Asia crash has led to much speculation about the coincidence that it occurred in the same area where Malaysian Air Lines 370 disappeared earlier this year.  Some ecologists have suggested that climate change has caused the Bermuda Triangle to drift to Southeast Asia.

A two-year old child, who found a gun in his mother’s purse, shot and killed her.  The NRA issued the following statement: “The only thing that can stop a two year-old with a gun is a five year-old with a semi-automatic.”

  1. The first three were amusing. The last two were pathetic attempts at humor about tragic incidences that will affect many people for a life time. Not worth of your abilities.

  2. I disagree, Ed.
Firstly, all items (other than Radio Shack) are tragic.
How is it that a 2-year-old can gain such easy access to a gun? That’s insane! What is the NRA’s suggestion to remedy this? And two plane crashes in the same area is so sad and disturbing, but all the unanswered questions about these incidents is tragic, more so for the families.
Bringing attention to both of these issues is important, even in a comedic setting.
