Netanyahu praises U.S. District Court terror decision

U.S. district court logoJERUSALEM (SDJW) — Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu greeted Monday’s decision in a federal district court in New York City to find the Palestinian Authority and the Palestine Liberation Organization liable for hundreds of millions of dollars in damages to the victims of bombings and other attacks during the Second Intifada with the following comment:

The US federal court decision determines the responsibility of the Palestinian Authority for the murderous terrorist attacks of the previous decade. Instead of drawing the requisite lesson, the Palestinian Authority is advancing steps that endanger regional stability such as the hypocritical application to the International Criminal Court even as it is allied with the Hamas terrorist organization. We expect the responsible elements in the international community to continue to punish those who support terrorism just as the US federal court has done and to back the countries that are fighting terrorism. Today as well we remember the families that lost their loved ones; our heart is with them and there is no justice that can console them.

In another reaction, Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) National President Morton Klein stated:

Sadly, even if the PA/PLO actually pays the $655.5 million jury awarded to the victims who brought the lawsuit, this will not bring back the precious lives and limbs and eyes and health destroyed in the PA/PLO-sponsored attacks.  However, the award can help choke off the funds that would otherwise be used to support more PA/PLO terrorism against innocent Jewish civilians.   The verdict also confirms the need to officially designate the PA/PLO as foreign terrorist organizations, and the need and legal obligation to end U.S. funding of the PA, which has cost U.S. taxpayers $500 million per year. We also strongly urge the UN to withdraw the PA’s observer status and to stop the PA from becoming a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC) or any other UN body.  The PA should not be permitted to file false charges against Israel at the ICC.”
