Islamic State supporters stab Jewish teacher in France

(JNS.org) A Jewish teacher in the French southern city of Marseille was reportedly stabbed by Islamic State supporters on Wednesday, days after the jihadist terror group took credit for the killing of 129 people in the Nov. 13 Paris attacks.

According to reports, the suspects allegedly made anti-Semitic comments before stabbing the Chabad-Lubavitch school teacher. One of the suspects apparently was wearing and Islamic State t-shirt. Additionally, a suspect also displayed a picture on his cell phone of Mohamed Merah, the French Muslim terrorist behind the murder of four Jews at a Jewish day school in Toulouse in 2012.

“The three people insulted, threatened and then stabbed their victim in the arm and leg. They were interrupted by the arrival of a car and fled,” Marseilles prosecutor Brice Robin told Reuters.

The teacher was evacuated to a local hospital and the wounds are not expected to be life-threatening.
