State supported murder of “terrorists” is made morally acceptable by referring to it with euphemisms, believing “our” leadership’s crimes cannot count as “terror”, and claims that increased state violence will reduce terror.
Setting aside the overwhelming historical evidence such policies increase overall societal acceptance for, and commission of violent acts, the reasoning given by Biton here is deeply flawed. This doesn’t guarantee the policy is bad, but it should cause us to be very skeptical.
Whether the policy is right or wrong, productive or not, we can judge that anyone who accepts similar reasoning can justify violence against themselves and their “side” is being ethical. Biton accepts this idea in principal, while admitting that in practice, it would not.
