This long whining by Naomi Chazan not surprisingly omits to mention the fact that the chances of the two-state solutions have long been killed by the Palestinians. It’s too late. They had their chance to have their slice of Jerusalem and turn it into a peaceful neighbor to the Israeli side, but their self-destructive determination to stick to their all or nothing position has now completely disqualified them from ever being treated or even considered as serious partners. They are not partners and they are not serious. Chazan’s dark predictions à la Cassandra are a waste of everyone’s time. History marches on. The Palestinians insist on remaining stuck in the past. Fine. It’s their choice, but in so doing they have freed the Israelis from any obligations the latter may have felt they had towards the Palestinian side (you know, Oslo and all). No more. It’s over. Let’s turn the page and ignore birds of doom like Chazan.
