LA JOLLA, California — “We are writing to inform you that a student organization has announced that a demonstration will take place on UC San Diego’s campus on Wednesday afternoon, March 6, near the areas of Sun God Lawn and Library Walk.

“Because there may be a large number of people in attendance, please consider avoiding the area and taking alternative routes. Employee supervisors and faculty are reminded that they can consider remote operations in accordance with their usual protocol.

Beyond those in our community, a large number of non-campus affiliates may also be present. In order to maintain peace and safety, a larger-than-usual security presence will be onsite.

“In addition to increased security, safety escorts will be available beginning at 3 p.m. To request a safety escort call (858) 534-9255, or extension 4-WALK from a campus phone.

UC San Diego unequivocally condemns antisemitism, Islamophobia and all forms of hate. As a public university, UC San Diego is required to allow access to campus and support everyone’s right to constitutionally protected free speech.

“We expect and encourage everyone to exercise their constitutional rights respectfully and peacefully. Violations of the law and university policy will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

“We call upon all Tritons, visitors and other community members to reaffirm our commitment to embody UC San Diego’s Principles of Community in our words, actions and how we treat one another.”

  2. It doesn’t seem like it’s anti-Israel, just a march to end the genocide. I think you’ll be okay and safe. Please don’t twist these people’s intentions. Thank you.

    1. You’ve just promoted hamas propaganda, and you cannot see how it’s anti Israel, and how it affects the Jewish and Israeli students on campus?

      1. I dont care about their poor little feelings. Kids in Rafah are starving due to Israeli blockade, and the entire population of Gaza is shelled out and homeless. Israel won’t stop until the entire population of Gaza is dead. Its a genocide.

        1. Israel was not present in Gaza before Oct 7th. Israel will stop only when the hostages are released and the Hamas terrorist and leaders are brought to justice for all the atrocities they committed. Currently they are hiding like rats in underground sewers, well fed, while their people is starving.

What did you expect Israel to do? Send them flowers?

    2. To be correct, it’s Hamas that committed genocide and war crimes, and fortunately they were stopped by the warriors in the Israeli armed forces. Otherwise, they would continue to rape, abuse, and kill anyone in their way.

I will not stay silent anymore! enough!!!

  3. I don’t know how to explain this other than to say that I remember the first day of the war and the reports that came in were of atrocities committed against civilians. Babies were literally beheaded and hostages were taken to tunnels that would be uncovered in an extensive system that is still being developed. My point is that the world is in line with what the government is willing to take on and the people who have been killed by either side know that this is a major exercise in the use of mass manipulation and control through war machines and the weapon of propaganda that has never stopped. The question is yet to be asked but what does this say given the many interpretations of self amongst today’s youth?
